Who says pink doesn't belong in a kitchen? 💗
Pink can sometimes be overlooked when it comes to kitchen design, with people often afraid to take the plunge. But when you find the right shades and combine them thoughtfully, it can be incredibly sophisticated.
For this scheme, I've paired Dusty Rose on the kitchen presses with Damson on the island, both from the Alchemist paint range. The contrast between the soft, muted pink and the deeper, richer plum creates a beautiful balance, adding warmth, depth and personality to the space.
To bring the entire scheme together, I've colour drenched the rest of the kitchen in Escape by Alchemist, carrying the colour across the walls, ceiling, skirting boards, doors and architraves.
Colour drenching is about looking at a room as a whole rather than treating each surface separately. By carrying the same colour across the walls and woodwork, you create a sense of continuity and allow the other colours in the scheme to really stand out.
I love showing how paint can completely transform a space. Your kitchen doesn't have to be white, grey or neutral to be timeless. Sometimes, it's about being a little braver, trusting the colours you love and having fun with the process.
Pink deserves a place in the kitchen, too. 🌸
