Westport Open Mic returns this Friday 13th March from 9pm Upstairs at the Clock.

A wonderful way to begin St Patrick's Weekend celebrations!

Contrary to the poster colour scheme, there is no theme... but any nods to the weekend that's in it are welcome (but not essential)!

As always, all acts are welcome and original writing is particularly encouraged. Live music only (no backing tracks).

Spoken word, poetry, storytelling, songs, instrumentals, comedy, avante-garde performance art. This is a perfect night to try out something new!

We are excited to welcome new faces to the stage, as well as our much-loved regulars who always bring their magic in new and exciting ways.

Lovely people of Westport 🌈

I am so delighted to be facilitating another journey to Creative Joy following Julia Cameron’s seminal work “The Artist’s Way”.

We will gather in sacred circle every Monday evening from 7-9pm at my home in Knappagh. Light refreshments will be provided. The circle will be no larger than 8.

Each week I will guide you through the themes of the week. There will be meditations, written exercises, a sharing circle and other techniques that I have developed through the past six years of being deep in this work which will help us delve deeper, connecting with our true, authentic creative selves and healing old wounding around connecting to our beautiful and unique creative expression and worth.

This is beautiful and life-changing work where we will be engaged in the work of finding and following our North Star, silencing our inner critic, creating art joyfully and fearlessly, creating a loving relationship with our inner child and living our lives authentically and truthfully from a place of Sovereignty.

In this increasingly crazy and hostile and AI driven world connecting to our innate creativity is one of our biggest acts of resistance!

Our journey together is for 12 weeks. The dates of the course are:

26th Jan
2nd Feb/ 9th Feb/ 16th Feb/ 23rd Feb
2nd March/ 9th March/ 16th March/ 23rd March/ 30th March
2 week break for Easter
20th April/ 27th April

I am so delighted to be facilitating another journey to Creative Joy following Julia Cameron’s seminal work “The Artist’s Way”.

Happy New Year to all our amazing performers and our beautiful audience members from all of us at Westport Open Mic. Thank you for making 2025 a very special year of magical and soulful creativity, new work and shared community and connection.

There will be no Open Mic this month. The lovely folk at are having a wee break for January and we decided to join them!

We have a full Christmas Open Mic extravaganza with our biggest sign up of acts yet!

The show will take place DOWNSTAIRS at the Clock. Doors open at 9pm for a 9.10pm start. All are welcome to settle in with a drink at the bar before 9pm.

✨ November Westport Open Mic is happening ~ TOMORROW NIGHT! ✨

Come on in out of the rain and cold, climb the few short stairs Upstairs at the Clock and find yourself enveloped in a warm, inviting, intimate creative atmosphere where we find ourselves completely in AWE at the magic that unfolds each month.

Last month was an absolute beauty. Patrick and I were completely speechless after the night... Was it the best Open Mic night EVER in the history of all Open Mics? Quite possibly.

One huge and most welcome surprise was the amazing performance by the lovely Pete Williams of Dexy's Midnight Runners. We also had an incredible mix of stories from all over the world, a beautiful personal dedication to our beloved Manchán Magan, brilliant original songs from a host of singer-songwriters, and some very deep and soul-stirring poetry and spoken word performances. And the rest! A truly incredible evening.

Thank you to all who came out ~ the audience is as loved and as valued as each performer. We co-create the magic.

Westport Open Mic is happening... TONIGHT!

Our new regular gathering will be the second Friday of the month... for the next wee while.... which is today!

For this special month all three of us will be hosting... Patrick Dexter Cello, Nan Ní Fhiaich and the very lovely Nicky Dowd.

Come and join us for a delicious serving of autumnal creative wonders... new songs, new writing, new music.

We are also excited to welcome new faces to the stage, as well as our much-loved regulars who always bring their magic in new and exciting ways.

There are still some slots available for those who have been thinking of getting up to share their own magical creativity but haven't quite managed to make that step. If you are reading this... see this as a sign! All acts are welcome!
