Animated State Dance Theatre Company promotes contemporary dance performance through the creation of innovative, challenging and accessible new work bringing dance to as wide an audience as possible. Our work is developed collaboratively through exploration and creative dialogue between dancers, choreographers, musicians, writers, visual artists and filmmakers. Through this dynamic, the expressive potential of movement is explored challenged and enriched. Animated State actively encourages interactions and exchanges with professional dance companies from Ireland and international visitors raising awareness of the work on going here in Waterford. Animated State is a resource to the Arts in Waterford, links with Waterford Youth Arts dance unit WYD moves enriches their programme and the company maintains a working relationship with Waterford Institute of Technology Relationships with other existing arts organizations highlight exploration of creative arts practice, providing opportunities to showcase work as part of the city and region’s artistic events calendar.
