In September 2014 we launched our very own in-house theatre with a special concert by Jack L (aka Jack Lukeman) and since then have hosted an array of acts including guitar legend Pat McManus, magician Jack Wise (pictured above), Rob Strong, tribute bands, cover bands, puppet shows, musicals, plays, and many more diverse shows and events. The Live Room Theatre provides the students of WAMA with f

antastic opportunities to see professional artists, both national and local, including access to live music acts that would otherwise typically perform in pubs and clubs. Not only is it a space for the pros to perform in, it's also a forum for our own students who can participate at open mics, teenage kicks, battle of the bands, recitals, plays, musicals and even play support to the professional acts. The Live Room Theatre is a gem in our facility and is a service that we are very proud to offer! Events in our theatre are for all ages, are fully supervised, and are always free from alcohol. Tickets are discounted by up to 50% for WAMA students and their immediate families.

Almost 5,000 of you tuned in last night to watch Mad Ferrit perform in our Live Room Theatre. Not too shabby for our first ever live stream!! And while you couldn't be there with us in the room, your flood of live comments and banter throughout kept the band energized and made us all feel that you were indeed actually with us, singing along! 👌

We couldn't have done it without Colin Shanahan of DigiCol Photography and Media Productions, James Quilty who created a great live mix, Terry O'Neill who did a lovely job on lighting, and Craig Cunningham who operated cameras for the night. Huge thanks also to the band who played a blinder. Everyone took a very professional approach to the show and put in a lot of work over a couple of days to bring it up to the standard it became. Well done lads! 👏

This Saturday night, 20th of June at 9pm we will be live streaming our festival set from The Live Room Theatre in association with Waterford Academy of Music & Arts (WAMA) right here on our page.

We hope you can join us online and cheer us on from home! This will be our first time ever performing without an audience. 🥁🎶😎

Since no physical audience can enter for this one, we're going to make use the floor space of the venue to ensure a 2 meter safe distance between the musicians.

We can't wait to bring some live music to Waterford again, (and the world! ). Everyone is welcome to watch, and it's 100% free. Hope to see you virtually this Friday night. :-)
