Key upcoming dates in the ADCI/DLI One Act Circuit 2026.

📍 Mon 24th Aug: Registration numbers, forms to apply to festivals and updated festival contact list emailed to groups by the ADCI/DLI Joint Committee Secretary.

📍 Fri 28th Aug, 12 noon: Closing date for applying to register for the ADCI/DLI One Act Circuit 2026. https://dli.ie/apply-for-one-act-festival/

📍Sat 29th Aug, 12 noon: Groups can apply to festivals from 12 noon.
Groups can participate in a max of 5 festivals (unless directed otherwise by the Joint Committee.

📍Sat 5th Sept: Festivals can publish their festival line-up.

📍 Thurs 22nd Oct to Sun 22nd Nov: 23 festivals run in the ADCI/DLI One Act Circuit over 5 weekends.

📍 Fri 4th to Sun 6th Dec: All Ireland One Act Finals 2026 in Letterkenny.

The ADCI/DLI Joint Committee would like to extend sincere sympathy to the family and friends and many friends in the amdram community of Billy McCreary on his sad loss.

Billy was an invaluable member of Kilmuckridge Drama Festival, Kilmuckridge Drama Group, the NEC of Amateur Drama Council of Ireland and the ADCI/DLI Joint Committee (the 6&6) and contributed greatly to amateur drama. He will be sadly missed but warmly remembered.

🔸ADCI/DLI ONE ACT DRAMA CIRCUIT GROUPS REGISTRATION opens at 12 noon on SATURDAY 1 AUGUST & closes at 12 noon on FRIDAY 28 AUGUST 2026. A registration number will be assigned by the Joint Committee Secretary. Applications to festivals opens at 12 noon on Saturday 29 August. Festival rules will be updated in the coming week.

DATES FOR ADCI/DLI ONE ACT CIRCUIT 2026

It really feels like summer now - but we know that drama groups around the country are planning their autumn programmes already.

The ADCI/DLI One Act Circuit is an exciting, convivial and rewarding experience for everyone involved. A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes by the host festivals, the overseeing body (the Joint Committee) and the adjudicators - and we would encourage as many drama groups as possible to go out on the circuit this year.

Preparations have started for the ADCI/ DLI One Act Circuit. The 23 Preliminary Festivals will take place over 5 weekends from Thursday 22nd October to Sunday 22nd November.
Festival Director John O’Donnell and team are busy with preparations for the 2026 All Ireland One Act Finals taking place Friday 4th to Sunday 6th December in the fabulous venue of An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny.

The ADCI/DLI Joint Committee (the 6&6), would like to announce the following dates for the ADCI/DLI One Act Circuit.

🔸Sat 1st Aug 12 noon - Registration opens for groups wishing to go on One Act Circuit 2026.
🔸Fri 28th Aug 12 noon - Closing date for registration by groups.
🔸Sat 29th Aug 12 noon - Groups can apply to the One Act Festivals.

🔗Links to the online application forms will be available on the DLI and ADCI websites, on the Social Media platforms of ADCI, DLI and the One Act Circuit, and will be circulated in the DLI Newsletter next week. The links will go live on Sat 1st Aug at 12 noon.
Groups fill in the play name, the group name they wish to register with, contact details and whether they wish to enter the Open or Confined section. Group insurance is needed to enter a festival and the rights for the play need to be secured. It can take some time to determine that the rights are available so please ensure to do a check in good time to avoid the disappointment of not being able to do your chosen play.

Here is the list of the 23 fabulous festivals with their amazing adjudicators awaiting your plays, and the fantastic Finals, hosted by Letterkenny One Act Drama Festival already preparing for the finalists.

Registration for groups opens on 1st August 2026. The date groups can apply to festivals will be announced after the next ADCI/DLI Joint Committee meeting.
