The 2026 Amateur Drama Council of Ireland Full-Length Festival Circuit begins tonight! Connecting communities, celebrating storytelling, and showcasing the extraordinary talent that lives in parish halls and theatres nationwide.

The AGM of the ADCI/DLI Joint Committee (the 6&6) looked back over a great One Act Circuit and a super All Ireland One Act Finals in 2025 hosted so well by Tubbercurry, Western Drama Festival under the excellent stewardship of Festival Director Brendan McGowan. It was a highlight of the year to have the Druid Theatre hold a rehearsed reading of the top 3 plays in the DLI/ADCI Playwriting Award, a competition kindly supported by the Ramor Theatre.

Many thanks to the outgoing Committee led by Liam Hannaway (Chair) and Mary Torsney (Secretary), who both did fantastic work and are now leaving the Committee. John Keane (ADCI Chair) and David Pepper will join the Committee.

Very best wishes to Mary Newman, taking over the role of Chair and Joanne Keane, taking over the role of Secretary.

Mairead Broderick will continue as Recording Secretary and Ollie Kenny will continue as the DLI/ADCI Playwriting Competition Coordinator. Marie Loftus will take over the role of PRO, with Clare Atkinson as Assistant PRO.

Results of the DLI/ADCI Playwriting Award 2025 (in association with the Ramor Theatre).
Congratulations to the winners and well done to all who participated in the playwriting competition.

It’s wonderful to have 61 new One Act plays available.

Many thanks to the adjudicators Walker Ewart (Chair), Mary Newman (DLI Chair) and Trish Keane (ADCI), to Ollie Kenny (ADCI/DLI Joint Committee Playwriting Award Coordinator) and to the Ramor Theatre, represented by Paddy Farrelly.

🌟 First runner-up: ‘The Wonder Wheel’ by Barry McKinley
🌟 Second runner-up: ‘Eat My Shorts’ by Irene Yore.

First prize is a scholarship for a week long residential playwriting in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, supported by the Ramor Theatre.
