Following sell out shows during the summer this hilarious piece of theatre comes to St Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurry for one night only. Patrons will already be familiar with Gerry Farrell from his one man show “I had to go for Counselling” and John Mc Dwyer’s “An Ordinary Man” as well as numerous BEEZNEEZ productions and more recently his performance in Pure Mule’s Kings of the kIlburn High Road.

H.O.Q.I.A.: Heck Of a Quality Inspection Assured is a fast-paced laugh-out-loud comedy that shines a light on the world of workplace audits and inspections. It’s a show that will resonate with anyone who’s ever faced the pressure of “making a good impression” under scrutiny. When a HOQIA inspector arrives at Barran nursing home, the staff at the care facility spring into action. But from the very first moment, things begin to unravel.
What follows is a hilarious series of mishaps, mistakes and ridiculous encounters filled with deceit and unexpected revelations. Bureaucracy competes with real care — leaving the staff feeling hard done by.
Yet, underneath the laughter, there's food for thought and reflection — and a few useful tips for carers, both professional and family.
HOQIA is perfect for general audiences seeking an evening of laughter, with particular relevance for nurses and healthcare professionals!

The Ballaghaderreen Players present "Dancing at Lughnasa" by Brian Friel

On Sunday September 13th in St. Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurry, the Ballaghaderreen
Players are thrilled to present a play widely considered the crown jewel of
contemporary Irish theatre, Brian Friel’s "Dancing at Lughnasa" ~ his moving and timeless masterpiece about family, home, belonging and
the sweeping tides of industrial change.

Set in the fictional town of Ballybeg Co. Donegal in 1936 it is a memory play told
from the point of view of the adult Michael Evans, the narrator. He recounts the
summer in his aunts' cottage when he was seven years old. This unforgettable
summer brings the possibility of joy, dance and love to these extraordinary,
ordinary women.

The Ballaghaderreen Players were reformed in 2023 with local theatre maker Julie
Sharkey as director, to coincide with the inaugural Ballaghaderreen Arts Festival.
They are committed to creating high quality productions of Ireland’s great plays,
while making sure the process is every bit as enjoyable as the performance itself.
To date they have performed and toured Big Maggie (2023), The Cripple of
Inishmaan (2024), The Field (2025). This year it is the Friel classic "Dancing at
Lughnasa", which has just finished a sold out run at the Ballaghaderreen Arts
Festival 2026.

They are thrilled to be performing at St. Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurry on Sunday, 13th September and hope you enjoy the show. Tickets €18 on the door. Doors open: 7.30 pm. Show starts @ 8 pm.
