Trim Drama Group Trim Drama Group is an amateur drama group located in the heritage town of Trim, Co.Meath.

We stage Spring & Autumn productions & we also take part in local festivals. Members come from all backgrounds & it is a wonderful group to be a part of �

Don’t miss our autumn show, “Dancing At Lughnasa” by Brian Friel, directed by Ellen Dennis which we will be staging in the Swift Cultural Centre Trim from November 18th - 21st 2026 with a new show time of 7:30 each evening!!

Brian Friel’s much loved classic play “Dancing At Lughnasa” is set in the summer of 1936, and depicts the late summer days when love briefly seems possible for five of the Mundy sisters (Maggie, Chris, Agnes, Rose, and Kate) and the family welcomes home their frail elder brother, Jack, who has returned from a life as a missionary in Africa.

Our talented director and cast are hard at work on their rehearsals and we can’t wait to see them bring this wonderful story to life on the Swift stage!

Too good not to share again!! Another chance to Meet The Cast for our autumn show, “Dancing At Lughnasa” by Brian Friel, directed by Ellen Dennis and which we will be staging in the Swift Cultural Centre Trim from November 18th - 21st 2026 with a new show time of 7:30 each evening!!

ARTS CAPITAL INVESTMENT FUND

DLI CHAIR Mary Newman and Summer School Director Ollie Kenny were delighted to be in attendance today when Minister Patrick O'Donovan today launched a new capital funding scheme, the Arts Capital Investment Fund . This scheme will open for applications tomorrow morning. The full details of the scheme, including Guidelines with eligibility criteria, funding amounts available and how to apply will be available on the Department’s website tomorrow morning, 1 October 2026 at the following link: Creative Arts: Grants and Funding: https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/publications/creative-arts-grants-and-funding/

We in DLI urge all our groups to take full advantage of this new initiative. There will be an eleven week window during which you can apply for the funding which ranges over building work, equipment, refurbishing, energy upgrades and technical upgrades. This is a wonderful chance for all our groups to improve their facilities and make halls and theatres safer, more comfortable and more welcoming.

Mary and Ollie were delighted to meet and speak with Minister O Donovan and Minister Malcolm Byrne.

It’s very encouraging to note that our pleas for funding are getting a hearing so please, be aware of the 11 week window and get applying!

Púca Festival 2026 preparation is underway, with hopes for more action and carnival spirit in the streets of Trim and Athboy.
Halloween, All Hallow's Eve and Samhain all celebrate the thin veil between the world of the living and the dead. Traditionally, a candle is lit, a place is set at our table and windows opened in welcome for ancestors past.

At this year's Púca festival 'Between Worlds', we celebrate the spirit of all beings past and those who come to visit from the Otherworld. For anyone interested in the art of play, living locally in Co.Meath, come join Puca to animate the spirits in streets and markets during the festival weekend.

Púca is LIVE Thursday 29th October until Sunday the 1st November. If you want to get involved, please text your name and the festival days you are interested in playing, to Claire on 0864012728. Hope you can join in!
