We are delighted to share the poster for our autumn show, “Dancing At Lughnasa” by Brian Friel, directed by Ellen Dennis and which we will be staging in the Swift Cultural Centre Trim from November 18th - 21st 2026 with a new show time of 7:30 each evening.

Brian Friel’s much loved classic play “Dancing At Lughnasa” is set in the summer of 1936, and depicts the late summer days when love briefly seems possible for five of the Mundy sisters (Maggie, Chris, Agnes, Rose, and Kate) and the family welcomes home their frail elder brother, Jack, who has returned from a life as a missionary in Africa.

Our talented director and cast have already started work on their rehearsals and we can’t wait to see them bring this wonderful story to life on the Swift stage!

Drumroll!!! Cast Announcement!! Huge congratulations to the actors cast in our forthcoming Autumn production of “Dancing at Lughnasa” by Brian Friel.

We want to thank everyone who attended our auditions in the past couple of weeks, and the huge turnout of talented actors made it a very tough decision for our director Ellen Dennis.

The critically acclaimed play “Dancing at Lughnasa” centers on the lives of the five Mundy sisters and their family in 1930s rural Ireland.

If you didn’t get a part this time around catch you on the next one, or maybe see if a backstage role might be available!

It is with great sadness that we announce the sad passing of Barry Mellerick, beloved father of our life member & committee colleague Barbera. Trim Drama Group offer our deepest condolences to Barbera, her brothers Alan & John and sister Jennifer and daughter Chloe and all their family and friends at their loss at this sad time. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

After the sell out success of our recent production of “Playboy of The Western World” by JM Synge we are delighted to announce our Autumn 2026 production will be Brien Friel’s acclaimed play, “Dancing At Lughnasa” and we will be holding our auditions this week on Tuesday June 2nd & Thursday 4th in the Castle Arch Hotel Trim at 8pm. Our production will be held on dates TBC week of 19th November 2026 in the Swift Cultural Centre Trim and will be directed by the very talented Ellen Dennis
