Céim Arts Honouring Tradition, Inspiring Creativity

Honoring Tradition, Inspiring Creativity
At Céim Arts, our mission is to honor Ireland’s rich intangible cultural
heritage by preserving and celebrating traditional arts, through dance,
song, and drama while inspiring creativity and innovation. Founded by
Joanne Barry and Jonathan Kelliher(formerly of Siamsa Tire, The National
Folk Theatre of Ireland) in 2024, drawing on over 50 years
of combined

experience in the professional arts sector to create
dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative opportunities that bridge tradition
and modern artistic exploration. Our vision is to foster creativity,
experimentation, and discovery through performances, workshops,
masterclasses, and creative partnerships, cultivating spaces where
tradition, imagination, and innovation come together to inspire the next
generation of artists and audiences alike.

A week ago Sadhbh and I drove to the foot of Carrauntoohil to offer our support to Lorraine and wave off all the climbers setting off on a hugely successful climb to raise funds for and in the fight against childhood cancer.

Lorraine’s daughter Lily, who lost her battle at just ten years old, was a very special friend of Sadhbh’s and our family🤍; we made a donation from in honour of Lily, from all our young people in memory of one very special young lady.

Well done to everyone, a beautiful community of people, especially Lorraine, a warrior Mom, creating a beautiful legacy in memory of her daughter ♥️

Bealtaine (May 1st) 💚 Our students in Finuge learned about the tradition of the “May Bush” or “Wishing Tree,” to welcome summer and seek protection for the season ahead. They may also have been out this morning bright and early walking barefoot in the morning dew 😅🫶🏼
