Here at Hobmania Framing we really enjoy bringing your special commission pieces to life. Hot from our framing workshop is this large and colourful map of Ireland jigsaw (88cm x 62cm). Hand crafting a unique frame for you means we can draw out the innate character and spirit of your piece. We went with a modern feel to this frame, to contrast with the historic theme of the jigsaw. The velum (off-white) wooden frame with a bevelled finish, brings a robustness, elegance and air of confidence to the piece. An antique white granular textured mount board complements and adds definition to the strong green and gold colours throughout. The jigsaw is carefully held together with conservation glue and is ready to hang proudly in any room.

This week we enjoyed framing this beautiful landscape painting "Glenbeighs' Rocky Shore" by artist Eileen Fitzgerald. It was important that the frame design complemented the use of light and colour in this unique painting. This velum (off-white) 6cm wide wooden frame with a wave-like profile, gives a certain robustness and stature to Eileen's elegant painting. It was also important that the frame picked up the light elements of the painting - the sun glistening on the sand, the reflection of the water and the translucent colour of the sky.
