Acting Studio

Acting Studio We will base all our work on trust as we will with cost.

The CLADDAGH ACTING STUDIO will present acting workshops two times a week for you to attend that will not only assist with those needs but also will suit your budget no matter what it is. If you are successful in gaining admittance after an interview and audition we will only charge you based on your income (on a sliding scale). This workshop process will be new to Dublin and Ireland and as a grou

nding for our work we will be using the work of the Irish playwright Samuel Beckett, the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov and the English playwright William Shakespeare. One of the greatest stage and film actors that ever lived once said “If an actor can perform Beckett, Chekhov and Shakespeare with competence, then they surely have a sparkling career ahead of them; not just as a famous actor but as a great actor; that is something we should all strive for” - Laurence Olivier

Krapp’s Last Tape by Samuel Beckett at St. John’s Theatre, Listowel on Wednesday September 2nd, 2026 at 8pm.

On his 69th birthday, a man sits alone and listens to the echoes of his younger self. Krapp's Last Tape by Samuel Beckett is an absurdist one-act play about an isolated, aging man who listens to audio diaries he recorded decades earlier. Confronted by the hopeful, romantic, and arrogant voice of his 39-year-old self, the 69-year-old Krapp is forced to grapple with the bitter realities, regrets, and failures of his life. Samuel Beckett's one act play is a beautifully lyrical piece, centred on moments of epiphany, beautifully interpreted by Patrick McDonnell. The play will be accompanied by an exhibition of the work of John Minihan, one of Beckett’s most trusted photographers. An exhibition of his collection will be on display for several weeks before it moves to Liverpool.
