It is with great sadness that St Brendan’s Oakpark Community Games learned of the passing of our former Chairman and dear friend, Owen Stack.
Owen was Chairman of St Brendan’s Oakpark Community Games for many years and gave an enormous amount of his time and energy to encouraging and supporting the young people of our area.
Year after year, Owen was at the heart of our St Brendan’s Oakpark area finals, helping to organise events and making sure everything ran smoothly so that the children of our community had the opportunity to take part in Community Games.
His dedication extended far beyond our own area. Owen was also a committed volunteer with Kerry Community Games, attending countless county finals and many memorable national weekends in Mosney and Athlone.
Everyone at St Brendan’s Oakpark Community Games extends our deepest sympathies to Owen’s wife, Diane, his daughters Alison and Katie, his granddaughters Robyn and Erin, Alison’s partner Bryan, his extended family and friends.
We will remember Owen with great affection and gratitude for the many years he devoted to St Brendan’s Oakpark Community Games and for the many memories of volunteering alongside him.
