As part of the National Biodiversity Week, two informative and engaging farm walks will take place in North Tipperary, focusing on soil health, biodiversity, and agroecology.

The first walk will take place at 3pm on Sunday, May 21st, at Cloncannon Biofarm, Cloncannon, Moneygall, E53 AE27. Nestled on the picturesque western slopes of the Devils' Bit Mountain, this farm is dedicated to organic food production and the preservation of natural habitats. For the past decade, owner Sean O' Farrell has been conducting educational food tours for schools, farmer groups, and youth organisations, sharing his knowledge and passion for biodiversity.

The second walk will be held the following evening, Monday 22nd at 7pm at Cloughjordan Community Farm, situated in Cloughjordan Ecovillage E53 AE27. As Ireland's largest community-supported agriculture project, the farm is a model of cooperative and sustainable farming practices.

During these farm walks, which are free of charge and open to all, participants will have the unique opportunity to learn from experienced farmers and local food practitioners about the importance of agroecology and biodiversity. Engaging talks and facilitated conversations aim to inspire attendees to take meaningful action in protecting and enhancing biodiversity, in their gardens, on their own farms and within their communities.
