Meet the first show of our Week 2 Studio Double Bill:

Moon Face by Michelle Henry

You’re 20 years old. Your immune system has lost the plot. The only thing that’s hot about you is your joints.

Pain is all day, everyday and hospital appointments become your social life. Everyone feels the urge to tell you about the herb their Nana takes that fixed all her problems. You can’t walk in the heels you want to wear. Medication changes the shape of your face. Most people don’t expect to meet adulthood and chronic illness in the same year.

Moon Face is about rheumatoid arthritis, navigating a bombardment of medical jargon and trying to feel sexy when all this chronic bu****it keeps killing the mood.

As our Being Well Festival approaches, it’s time to introduce our programme! First up, our opening workshop:

🍃 The Gathering Well Workshop with Céline Thobois-Gupta and Martha Cosgrove🍃

This embodied and material workshop opens the festival by attuning participants to their sources of wellness and their environments, exploring wells and the more-than-human meanings of wellbeing through movement and zines. The workshop creates pathways for conversations and reflections around the festival’s theme, which sets the stage for festival artists and audiences to share ideas and experiences for the following weeks.

📅 Saturday 31 October, 12pm-3pm
📍 The Civic Studio
⭐️ Free, but registration is required.

Last week, Jenny attended the launch of the 2026 Trinity School of Medicine Health Policy and Civic Engagement Report, which featured a report on our performance of The Tightrope Walker in St James’s Hospital earlier this year.

It is a privilege to be featured in this fascinating report exploring equitable, creatively engaged, planet-conscious, evidence-based and socially responsible health policy.

Our congratulations and sincere thanks to the team behind this report and launch, and to the team at the Creative Life Centre at MISA, St James’s, for their vision and support in bringing the Tightrope Walker to St James’s.

We had a brilliant workshop last Saturday with Niamh Flynn from NYCI as part of our Roots & Wings series!

A huge thank you to Niamh for sharing and opening conversations with us on the connections between grassroots social justice and policy, what and who influences decision-making, and how barriers to influencing change can be overcome.

We have been having lots of rich conversations and explorations in our past sessions and are excited to share our discoveries in our final sharing on the 17th!

Announcing The Being Well: SoloSIRENs Festival 2026

Join us to explore community, connection, resilience and hope in our third Festival!

Over four weekends from October 29 to December 12, the festival presents performances, works-in-progress, conversations, installations and free workshops. A space for artists and audiences to imagine how we can co-create ways of living better together.

Join us to explore roots, connections, ways to ground, and ways to take flight.

Roots and Wings is a new workshops series for young people (18+), exploring racism, gender and their connections. Over three workshops led by Neltah Chadamoyo, we will investigate power, privilege, identity and representation in theatre, writing and movement exercises. There will be a short sharing of our work at the end of the series.

With deep love and sadness, we remember our beloved collective member Melody Chinenyanga (née Chadamoyo).

On August 6th, 2026, Melody passed away peacefully in Dublin, Ireland, in the presence of family and friends.

Melody will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege of her beautifully creative and loving presence in their lives. Her passion for bettering the community and the world around her will forever be felt and carried on by those she leaves behind. Her infectious smile will always shine in our hearts. Melody’s mastery of logistics and unwavering ability to tell it as it is will be deeply missed. May we continue to be bold, confident, and courageous in her honour.


Reposing at her home, 5 Oakdale Grove, D24 T2P1, on Friday, 21st August, from 5pm. Funeral Service on Saturday, 22nd August, at 11am in Rathfarnham Parish Church of Ireland, Main St., Rathfarnham and afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium.

Those attending the funeral are invited to wear bright colours in memory of Melody.

With heavy hearts, we want to share the passing of our beautiful SoloSIRENs collective member Melody Chadamoyo. Melody was a powerfully creative and compassionate woman. She light up all of our lives with her love and wisdom. She gave so much to all who knew her and we are so grateful for all the times we shared. She will be deeply missed. Our deep sympathy to Neltah, Siobhan, and Ashley and to all of Melody’s family and friends. Rest in peace beautiful Melody.
