To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re going to share some memories about the work we’ve done since 2016!

Our first ever show was Welcome to Wonderland! performed in The Glens Arts Centre. With literally a shoestring of a budget, Treasa adapted Alice in Wonderland for the stage and Sonia designed and directed a funky carnival style show with a bunch of extremely patient voluntary actors. 

We later performed this show in Lurganboy Forest as part of the Five Glens Festival, where the audience followed the actors around the wood trail. 🌳

The facilitator for our Cruinniú na nÓg Foraged | Found | Fotographed workshop in The Glens Arts Centre on 6th June is Niamh O’Brien!

She’ll be showing the participants how to design and decorate their props using man-made and natural objects.

Niamh (Nevie), mother of one, is an artist and maker based in Co. Leitrim, working with fabrics, costume and set design, textiles, performance and installation art. She has worked for an array of projects across theatre, street performance, festivals, film and TV.
Niamh recently completed a Masters in Creative Practice and Design at Atlantic Technological University, Sligo wherein she was awarded a residency in the National Abbey Theatre, Dublin. Prior to her artistic career, she worked in the legal sector.

We are delighted to be part of Cairde Arts Festival 2026 Unveiled - New Work Showcase alongside three other works-in-progress!

‘Festering’ is a work-in-progress two-hander play written by Leitrim playwright Treasa Nealon, with directing support from Ellen Buckely and starring Sligo based actor Órla McSharry.

A daughter rips apart the kitchen trying to find the source of an infestation of flies. A mother sits at the table and berates her while she does so. The mother is dead, and all the bitching, gossiping and mundane conversation is in the daughter’s head.

This macabre horror comedy explores toxic mother and daughter relationships, isolation and loss of independence.

This residency is giving time and space for the development of ‘Festering’, allowing playwright Treasa to work with other artists to present it as a work-in-progress for Caride’s Unveiled.

Unveiled is presented in collaboration with Hawk’s Well Theatre and supported by Sligo Arts Service and Blue Raincoat Theatre Company.
