Sligo Live presents a very special double-bill show with two sensational rising Irish artists, The Wran and George Houston, in Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo on Saturday 24th October at 8pm. Tickets €28.00 plus fees.

The Wran bring a fresh voice to Irish music, blending trad with punk and a hint of psychedelia to create music that feels both timeless and new. Drawing inspiration from Planxty, The Pogues and Lankum. They are dedicated to keeping the Irish language, traditional songs and storytelling alive while continuing to push it forward in their own way. After an explosive live debut in 2025, including accoladed performances at Glastonbury, Green Man, All Together Now and Electric Picnic, the band went on to support The Scratch and Kíla and sell out their debut Irish tour.

Hailing from rural Donegal, George Houston is a genre-bending singer-songwriter praised for his poetic, cinematic sound and deeply personal themes. Since debuting in 2020, Houston has released four albums, toured with Paul Weller and The Divine Comedy, received acclaim from BBC Radio One, RTÉ Radio One, and appeared on Later… with Jools Holland, and The Tommy Tiernan Show. His work explores grief, queerness, and resilience, wrapped in lush harmonies and gothic-folk aesthetics.

New Zealand comedy legend Rhys Darby is best known as the unforgettable Murray Hewitt in HBO’s cult hit Flight of the Conchords. Darby has built a global career spanning stand-up, film and TV, starring alongside Jim Carrey in Yes Man, in the Jumanji franchise and as Stede Bonnet in Our Flag Means Death. Renowned for his manic energy, physical comedy, character voices and legendary sound effects, he has released five stand-up specials and toured the world for more than 25 years.

It is with profound sadness that We've learned of the passing of Glen Hansard.

We were so looking forward to welcoming Glen back to Sligo this October. His unforgettable performance at Sligo Live in 2021 remains one of the festival's most cherished concerts, leaving a lasting impression on all who were there.

Our heartfelt sympathies go to his partner, his young family, his friends and all who loved him. Ireland has lost one of its greatest musical voices.

Ticket holders will be contacted directly by the box office next week.

Sligo Live Festival is delighted to present Rosanne Cash with John Leventhal, plus very special guest, Margaret Glaspy, in The Knocknarea Arena ATU Sligo, on Sunday 25th October 2026. Seated tickets €52.50 plus booking fees.
