LGBT+ community members and allies came together and stood strong against Andy Heasman and his Fascists, in the face of danger and some protestors facing assault. They managed to protest Andy's group in Carrick on Shannon with Leitrim Pride leitrimpride.

Following what took place we affirm what we have previously stated that this group poses as serious threat to the LGBT+ community in the North West. We will continue to work hard and develop improved strategies in the future to better address situations like this should they occur again.

We would like to thank everyone who attended, for your bravery in the face of danger and for protecting the NW and your community.

It's officially happening, the fascists are arriving tomorrow in Carrick on Shannon and will be visiting the local library. If anyone wishes to come from Sligo please let us know if you need transport.

We are aiming to be in Carrick on Shannon no later than 11am and meeting with Leitrim Pride from there we will be taking their lead on how to approach the fascists.

Update: Andy Heasman and his agitators. We have watched a recent video he has uploaded last night and confirmed his team plan to hit Athlone on the 12/08 at 10 - 11am. Heads up Mullingar Pride Athlone Library They are aware people are keeping track of them, including counter protestors who attended too early for their arrival in Athlone.

We again are asking to please urgently get in touch with Leitrim Pride and show your support as we need volunteers to protect Carrick on Shannon and the surrounding townland against this group of anti-trans activists.

They are also allied with Posie Parker* (an internationally known TERF) and very first counter protest, that current members of SIP attended in Belfast, February earlier this year. We are aware there is a child with their group too and they have been travelling and camping for several days now. Needless to say we are extremely concerned about their wellbeing being on a boat that has a leaking problem and in damp weather conditions. Their group has also admitted to using small townlands and villages across Ireland which are much more susceptible to misinformation due to their seclusion from larger towns and cities.

This is something that is going to be highlighted as a key issue with our community group following the AGM on how to address those in the LGBT+ community who live in more rural areas to help them get access to better resources.

Finally we have confirmation that Andy headbutt a tree.

After investigating Andy Heasman and his far right agitators we concluded that he has been lying on his social media, he was in fact not finished up in Banagher as he hadn't made it to Banagher at all yet.

We roughly calculated the size of his boat and estimated he could maybe do a pitiful 8km/hr meaning it could take him 16 - 20 hours to get to Carrick on Shannon at his current pace.

To add too poor Andys problems we believe the river guard has closed the canal on him and is refusing to open it preventing him for getting to Athlone.

Update: we have managed to identify the group responsible and those in charge of this far right agitation. For privacy reasons and to avoid compromising our spies we won't release which group is responsible until after finding out more about their schedule. Suffice to say we now have a gay sneaky in the enemies HQ

It has come to our attention that a group of far right agitators are using the River Shannon heading north and stopping at local villages and towns. This group is currently protesting libraries, LGBT+ friendly businesses regarding lgbt books in their stock. Needless to say we rightfully condemn their fascistic behaviour.

We understand many of you may be exhausted from the weekend which is why we hate to ask but if anyone can please volunteer and support Leitrim Pride tomorrow between 9am - 2pm it would be greatly appreciated. We do not have an exact time when the fascists will be attending but will keep you posted.

Lastly, suffice to say if this group is arrogant enough to come to sligo we will be making every effort possible to protest Sligo Library and any business threatened by this group.

We're asking Leitrim County Council and Sligo County Council to please be vigilant and help provide any Gardaí coverage they can so our community can be protected.

Today, the 8th of August, marks Neuro Pride Day.
Pride Ireland has been celebrating this with their own festival of events.
Today at 5pm they are having a soapbox session where our own Pippa Black and the incomparable (among others, many on the theme of trans rights and LGBTQUIA+ rights) will be delivering 5 minute soapbox speeches.

Céad míle buíochas to everyone who turned out to support our Trans Heathcare and Civil Rights Protest yesterday. What a fantastic way to cap off a weekend of amazing events. Here is chief organiser, Harper, doing a sound check before we kicked off. More photos and video to follow.

To all who survived the weekend, we salut you. Today, it's the moment you've all been waiting for, a time to end on an important note, about the struggles our community continues to face. We're toning it down, taking it seriously. This is because so far this year we have had several protests on the current state of Trans healthcare in this country and yet no word has come out from the government on their plans to change things, to improve things. While thousands of lives suffers.
Please meet us from 5pm at the Sligo post office, GPO and speak your mind, we hope to have a fantastic turn out and then a pizza party at Swagman afterwards as a big final "woooh" and rest for the long weekend we have had, well done everyone!
