45 YEARS OF SLANE ROCKS 🎸

45 years ago today, on 16 August 1981, the first ever concert at Slane Castle took place.

Thin Lizzy headlined. A young U2 took the stage. Hazel O’Connor, Rose Tattoo, Sweet Savage, The Bureau and Megahype completed the bill.

And 18,000 fans made the first-ever “trip to Slane”.

Nobody knew that day just how much history was about to be made…

From Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy to Queen, Dylan, Bowie, Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, U2, Guns N’ Roses, Oasis, R.E.M., Metallica, Harry Styles to Luke Combs and beyond — Slane has become part of the soundtrack of generations. ❤️
