Muse Productions About Muse Productions Muse Productions was founded in April 2011 by Ted Germaine, Anne Germaine, Martin McNelis and Clare McNelis.

We aim to provide a platform for all types of theatre to be performed in Shannon, with an emphasis on utilising local talent and providing entertainment first and foremost to the people of Shannon. The Oakwood Arms is intended to be the focus for these productions, creating a new venue that has been sadly lacking in recent years. Ted has been involved with Drama in Shannon from the very beginning, and was instrumental, along with Clare and Martin, in reviving theatre in Shannon previously with another Shakespeare play, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, with Icarus Players. They followed this production with 5 more years of theatre, including one act plays and full three act plays. Martin directed the production of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and a one act play “Roman Fever”, Clare directed “The Importance of Being Earnest”, and Ted returned to Directorial duties for “Abelard and Heloise”.

All of us in Muse Productions were deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of our friend Mary Forde. Mary was involved with the group since its’ foundation, leading the props team for many of our productions. Indeed, prior to her passing, Mary was sourcing props for our next performance with her customary diligence and attention to detail. We will greatly miss her advice, good humour, and sharp wit. Her passing is a great loss to the Shannon theatrical community, and we would like to extend our sympathies to her family and wide circle of friends.

The death has occurred of Mary FORDE (née Rankin) of Shannon, Clare Ireland, on 22/08/2026. You can view the full death notice and add your condolences here.

Its been a crazy 10 years!

Shannon Springs Hotel first came on board as our title Sponsors in 2016 when we mounted our first Musical, "Man of La Mancha", which was followed in 2018 by "In the Heights" both of which were nominated for multiple awards in the Sullivan section. We were planning "Our House" for 2020 but Covid hit us and pushed it out to 2022.

Ei Electronics came on board as our second Sponsor and we were absolutely thrilled to be nominated for Best Overall Show in the Sullivan section, which resulted in us being promoted to the Gilbert section for the following shows. "Forever Plaid" in 2024 was nominated for, and won, the Adjudicators Special Award for the four actors involved.

Then came RENT. A whopping 6 nominations in the Gilbert section: Runners Up in Best Technicals, Best Ensemble, Best Actor and Best Director; and incredibly winning Best Singer for Nathan Canning and BEST OVERALL SHOW in all of Ireland!! This is absolutely the pinnacle of Amateur Musicals in Ireland and to have come so far in such a short time is a testament to the committment and talent of all involved, but none of it would have been possible without these incredible sponsors. Our heartfelt and genuine thanks to those who make all this possible.
