A medium sized oil of an old farmer who lived on The Massif Central in Southern France. He was an extraordinary character who loved every minute of his long life. He was a joy to paint.

This is a large painting of an old friend, John Constable Parnell, who lived for many years in the village of Soubes in the Languedoc. John was born in Lincolnshire and ran away from home eventually joining a Native Canadian Tribe befoer travelling to the Far East to join the army in Singapore before the war. He became a prisoner and was on the Death March and helped to build the famous Bridge over the River made famous in the film.
John was a fine painter too.

Dinner Time, a large oil on canvas. This is how the story goes; the old lady, called, of course Mary Kate, lived near Clifden in Co. Galway and was a friend and protector of any stray dog or cat in the region.
Her father and grandfather had been beach combers and had found a French wreck which contained the massive stove which they brought home to Mary Kate.

Liberty Leading The People, a huge Oil on Canvas and it's a pastiche of a wonderful piece by the French painter Eugene Delacroix. Mine is not based in Paris but in the Dublin of 1916 and celebrates the rebellion of so many brave men against the colonial rule of England.

This is a big oil on canvas and, I suppose that it's a sort of a "ghost" painting. My favourite horse ever was called Hickstead . (one of my favourite showgrounds too) and he won the Gold Medal for Showjumping in Beijing with Eric Lemaz up.
Sadly, beautiful Hickstead burst a blood vessel coming out of the ring in Verona and slipped away to the Equestrian Elyseum Fields.
