Laois Youth Dance Ensemble is excited to host LDP25 and to perform ‘Where spirits rise’, choreographed by Annekatrin Kiesel .kiesel in collaboration with Erica Borges this evening

Laois Youth Dance Ensemble (LYDE) , founded in 2013 by dance artist Erica Borges, is the first contemporary dance group in Laois. LYDE provides young people with high quality dance training in a supportive, inclusive environment that celebrate individuality, creativity, and collaboration. Through professional workshops, residencies, and performances - including the annual Laois Dance Platform festival - LYDE connects youth with national and international artists, making dance visible, accessible, and vibrant across the Midlands.

Ohr Dance Company is a pre-professional dance company that supports dancers in full-time training and new dance graduates as they develop their artistry, performance, choreography skills, and networking. The company is an extension of Laois Youth Dance Ensemble at a more mature level, directed by Erica Borges.

After joining us for our dance gathering in November, we are joined once again by Dancing Jewels Ballet School, who will perform their piece ‘Picture Perfect’ 🩰

DJBS highly values each of their members. Fostering love for dance and exploring their abilities and potential, gives an opportunity for every person to shine. Students took part in various competitions, performed locally, country wide, and abroad. Number of students received offers and successfully passed auditions to Morea Performing Arts, Youth Ballet West and Dublin Youth Dance Company, participated at Global Dance Open Finals in Spain and recently performed in Disneyland Paris.

All the way from Donegal, we have ZoNa Dance Company! This year marks their Laois Dance Platform debut ✨

ZoNa Dance Co. brings high-quality education to the young people of the Northwest. The school offers dancers remarkable opportunities to perform in professional festivals, create original choreography, and participate in prestigious events. Directed by Jessica Peoples, their students have achieved impressive milestones, including membership in the Irish National Youth Ballet and successful auditions for top colleges and universities across Ireland, the USA, England, and Scotland.
