What an incredible launch event we had on Saturday at the Cavan County Museum for the unveiling of "Lough Sheelin: the history, the legends, and the lake today"! 🎉 Over 100 people attended, and we were so touched by the warmth, enthusiasm, and joy in the room. The feedback for the film, art, and music was overwhelmingly positive. This was truly a community project, and our community's support was phenomenal! Thank you all!

The exhibition was officially launched by Cathaoirleach Carmel Brady, funded by Creative Cavan Creative Ireland and supported by Cavan County Museum. They provided so much help and support with the project and the launch.

The room will be available to view for the foreseeable future, so if you have a spare hour, please pop in and experience the art, music, historical facts, and a 40-minute film with stories and footage of Lough Sheelin.

I'll miss working with Colette Kearney , Barry O’Reilly and Jago Studio Cavan who are the kindest and most enthusiastic artists/creatives.

Lough Sheelin, the history, the legends, and the lake today

What a fantastic evening at Cavan County Museum for the launch of Lough Sheelin: The History, The Legends and The Lake Today, an immersive art project led by local artist Gaffney Art

The exhibition was officially launched by Cathaoirleach Carmel Brady and was met with a tremendous response, attracting a large audience and generating wonderful feedback from attendees. Through a rich blend of art, storytelling, history and local heritage, the project brings the unique character of Lough Sheelin to life, celebrating its landscapes, legends, wildlife and the communities connected to it.

Congratulations to Kim who worked with Collette Kearney mural artist, traditional harpist Barry O'Reilly together with Jago Studios on creating such a captivating and thought-provoking experience. Thank you to everyone who came along to support the launch and engage with the exhibition.

The exhibition is well worth a visit and offers a unique opportunity to explore one of our region's most treasured natural and cultural landmarks through an artistic lens.

My son took this photo yesterday; he kept remarking how happy I was. You can see the relief on my face as I loaded my arched paintings into the lift of the Cavan County Museum for our upcoming Lough Sheelin immersive exhibition.

It is brilliant to be at this stage where everything is coming together. It has been an absolutely fantastic project to work on and so special to do it with other creatives. My arched art is just a segment of a vibrant, interesting community project.

I can't wait to share it all with everyone next week.

So excited to see my new collection featured in Ireland's Homes Interiors & Living ❤️

This photograph was taken by the talented Gemma Carew in Deerpark Forest, Virginia Co Cavan, a place that has a special connection to this new collection and to the landscape that inspires so much of my work.

The three new arch paintings were adored at the Dublin Horse Show, and it was so lovely to see people connect with them in person.

The arched format itself has become a really meaningful part of my work, inspired by a sense of place, history and the Irish landscape.

That same arch concept is now flowing into my Lough Sheelin community project, where I’m exploring the stories, beauty and history of the lake through a new body of work created especially for the project. I will share more about this tomorrow!

The 'Croí na Coille' collection is available to view on my website. 🤎 Link in bio
