Broken Record

Broken Record Events in Newbridge, Co. Kildare since 2025

Broken Record is a Newbridge-based collective formed by a group of friends who wanted to revive the town’s live music spirit by creating opportunities to bring exciting acts (both local and touring) into intimate, community-driven spaces. Inspired by past DIY gigs and a shared “why not?” attitude, we set out to channel our experience, enthusiasm, and slightly obsessive taste in music into somethin

g tangible, especially as venues and opportunities have dwindled—even as we continue to run our own weekly DJ nights every Saturday in Grand Stretch. What started as a simple idea has quickly grown into a run of shows featuring artists we genuinely love, with more lined up throughout the year. At its core, Broken Record is about fostering connection, celebrating great music, and creating unique, memorable experiences that you won’t find anywhere else.

Thrilled to have Briany Brannigan
(a lazarus soul) joining the bill alongside Mohammad Sykhan for a very special night in St. Patrick's Church. June Fest Newbridge

It's hard to overstate just how special Briany is, one of the finest songwriters Ireland has ever produced, and an artist whose songs continue to resonate deeply with audiences everywhere. A familiar face in Newbridge, he's graced stages here for years, from opening for Andy Irvine & Donal Lunny in the Town Hall to unforgettable late-night sessions in Con Cummins.

Fresh from a string of European dates opening for The Divine Comedy with his band, A Lazarus Soul, and their own headline shows in Vicar Street, Briany continues to stand apart as one of Ireland's most compelling voices. His songs Black & Amber and Lemon 7s also feature on Christy Moore's latest album, A Terrible Beauty.

On the night, Briany will be joined by Tony Barrett of the legendary Sack, a collaboration set to make this a truly memorable evening in the stunning surroundings of St. Patrick's Church, Fri 5th June.
