🚌 The RSA Interactive Shuttle is Coming to Castleblayney! 🚌

Muckno Mania is thrilled to welcome the RSA (Road Safety Authority) Interactive Shuttle to town this summer!

Whether you're a new driver, a seasoned pro, or want the kids to learn about road safety in a fun, hands-on way, this is an incredible experience you won't want to miss.

🎉 Muckno Mania Goes Fiesta Not Siesta!
We’re thrilled to unveil a sneak peek of our festival lineup — four unforgettable days packed with colour, creativity and celebration!

From children’s workshops and street festivals to Spanish music, dancing and food at Lough Muckno, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Our poster gives a vague breakdown of events across the four days — but stay tuned!
🕒 Times and locations will be released when our festival booklet is ready for posting.

And that’s not all… we’ve got much more planned, so keep an eye out for exciting updates over the next eight weeks as we build up to the biggest fiesta Muckno has ever seen!

🎉 Muckno Mania 2026 – It’s Time to Embrace the Magic! 🇪🇸

The countdown is officially on… just 9 weeks to go until Muckno Mania Festival bursts into life across Castleblayney!

We’re calling on all businesses, homes, community groups and residents to get your thinking caps on and start bringing that Spanish sparkle to our town.
Let’s fill our streets with Spanish flags, piñatas, colourful displays, creative window décor and all things fiesta‑inspired. The brighter, bolder and more imaginative the better.

This year’s theme is all about fun, colour and community spirit — and we can’t wait to see how YOU bring it to life.

We’ve also included the link below so you can enter our many competitions for 2026. There’s something for everyone, so get involved and help make this year’s festival the most vibrant one yet.

Giving back to the heart of Monaghan! ❤️

We were delighted to present a cheque to Geraldine Watterson of SOSAD Monaghan, representing the incredible proceeds from public donations at the Lough Muckno Christmas Markets. 🎄✨

A massive thank you to everyone who visited the markets and donated so generously. This was a true team effort between the Muckno Mania Committee and the Carrickmacross/Castleblayney Municipal District Monaghan County Council

We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we took home the Best Tourism Event Award at the Anglo-Celt Business & Tourism Awards 2026 last night! 🥂✨

To be recognized at the beautiful Nuremore Estate among so many incredible peers was an honor in itself, but to walk away with the trophy is a dream come true for everyone involved.

This award isn’t just for the committee, it belongs to:

The Volunteers: Who give their time and energy year after year.

Our Partners: Including and the local businesses who back us.

The Community: Every person who attends, cheers and makes our events so special.

We are absolutely thrilled to share that we have been shortlisted in the Tourism Events category at the The Anglo-Celt Business & Tourism Awards 2026! 🎉

It’s a huge honour to be recognised alongside so many fantastic festivals and events, and we’re incredibly proud of everyone involved.

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 17th April at the Nuremore Estate by McGettigan's and we’re really looking forward to the night.

Wishing all the other entries the very best of luck – it’s wonderful to see such amazing work being celebrated across the sector!

🚲✨ The High Nelly Cycle returns as part of our 2026 Festival Programme… with a Spanish twist!

There’s nothing quite like the charm of those old bicycles and the memories they carry. So dust off your High Nelly, step back in time and join us for a celebration full of colour, music, a touch of nostalgia… and a little fiesta flair!

Muckno Mania members had the fantastic opportunity to travel to Spain and take part in Flamenco dance workshops in Caudete, Albacete, through an Erasmus+ programme.

Participants, who attend Adult Education dance classes with Castleblayney Enterprise Centre experienced Spanish culture first-hand while learning from professional dancer Mónica Calabuig Belda.

We would also like to thank our hosts for their amazing hospitality.

We now look forward to welcoming Mónica and local dance groups to Castleblayney this July for our summer festival!

A huge thank you to everyone who made this cultural exchange possible.
