🎭 Delighted to see The Garage Theatre and our Writer in Residence, Pat McCabe, in conversation with the wonderful John Creedon on Creedon's Musical Atlas of Ireland.

A big shout-out to Pat for a brilliant , thought-provoking chat - and to our Artistic Director Eileen Costello for putting Little White Lies in the spotlight. 💫 Wonderful rendition of "My Wonderful" by Aisling McCormilla. The locality is rich in talent.

Creedon’s Musical Atlas of Ireland is an in-house RTÉ Cork production, presented by John Creedon and directed by Deirdre Ní Mhathúna.

Join us for an exceptional evening of chamber music with the Kantos Quartet as they present their Centenaries Tour.

This debut tour introduces an exciting new ensemble bringing together four of Ireland’s most distinguished and experienced string players. The programme reflects on the musical and cultural landscape of the 1920s while also looking ahead to the forthcoming bicentenary of Beethoven’s death in 2027, creating a thoughtful dialogue across time.

Deirdre, their old school pal, loves them both. When Noel returns home unexpectedly from college, their lives are thrown into chaos.

Leaving is a powerful, intimate drama about belonging, heartbreak, and the cost of choosing your own path.

The original production of Leaving premiered in the Garage Theatre 2002 produced by Quare Hawks Theatre. With this new production directed by Barry McSkeane, Flocking Arts are excited to bring this beautifully written play back to life.

NEW GOSPEL CHOIR – MONAGHAN!!!

A brand-new and exciting Gospel Choir is coming to Monaghan!

Under the direction of acclaimed musician and artist Gráinne Duffy, who holds a PhD in Music, this choir offers a fun, uplifting, and spiritual experience for anyone interested in learning and performing gospel music. No matter your level of singing experience, all are welcome to join.

Weekly rehearsals will take place every Monday at 8:30 pm in The Garage Theatre. Together, participants will learn and develop a repertoire of both traditional and contemporary gospel songs in a friendly and supportive environment.

The project will culminate in a live performance
concert at The Garage Theatre, providing an exciting opportunity for choir members to showcase their talents and share the joy of gospel music with family,
friends, and the wider community.

Come along, make new friends, discover the power of gospel singing, and be part of something special.

Wednesday 2nd September – Monday 30th November SEANSCÉALTA, GUTHANNA BEO What Still Lives Here BY JUSTINE GUITTONNY-CAPPELLI

Justine Guittonny-Cappelli is a French artist based in Ireland. Her work draws on Irish mythology, which she approaches as an active space, still capable of engaging with contemporary questions.

Her paintings give form to mythological figures through bodies that move away from familiar categories. Points of reference are deliberately blurred, shifted, sometimes difficult to define. These choices are not explained, but they open a space in which viewers can recognise something of themselves or project their own experiences.

Through this work, mythology becomes a place where contemporary concerns can take shape, without being fixed into a defined message. It accompanies the present, quietly, through the image.

Her background in history and anthropology informs this approach in the background, guiding her visual choices without taking over the work itself.

Join us for the opening evening on Wednesday 2nd September at 7pm with an Introductory Talk by Dr. Lauren Cassidy, Teaching Fellow in English Literature at MIC, Occasional Lecturer at DCU and Editorial Assistant at the University Reviews.

Complimentary Wine and Cheese served at 6.30pm
