‘The Mai’ marks Krista Hamilton’s second role as Director for DangerMice Productions, the first being their 2020 production of Elaine Murphy's Little Gem. She feels extremely privileged to be bringing this beautiful play to life, alongside such a remarkably talented cast and crew. Krista has worked extensively as an actor, theatre maker, drama facilitator and director including over 20 mainstage productions as the proud Artistic Director of Monaghan Youth Theatre based in the Garage Theatre, Monaghan.
Originally from the American South, she studied acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. NYC theatre credits include Mrs. Gibbs in Our Town, Shelby in Steel Magnolias and Gladys in A Lesson From Aloes. Since moving to Ireland in 2005, she has also gained extensive stage and screen experience. Her most recent television credit was playing Lady Hazel Lavery in the RTÉ docudrama, TREATY LIVE, and she can also be seen in Lloyds Pharmacy and Workvivo advertisements. Her most recent stage role was Cass in Brian Friel’s The Loves of Cass McGuire. Other Irish theatre credits include Sister Aloysious in Doubt, Annie in Calendar Girls, Linda Lohman in Death of a Salesman and Grace in Faithhealer. Her most recent directing credit was the stage adaptation of Under the Hawthorne Tree with Monaghan Youth Theatre. Her most recent film credit was playing Grace, the sassy Purgatory receptionist, in Taine King’s, ‘The Wilde Sisters’, due to be released soon.
