Louisburgh Voices are delighted to be part of this Cultural Programme, joining with Cór Mhaigh Eo (dir. Kathy Quinn) and the ConTempo String Quartet to perform Fauré's Requiem in the historic setting of Ballintubber Abbey on 22nd November.
Soloists are Pauline Graham (soprano) and Owen Gilhooly-Miles (baritone), with Michael Quinn (organ).

The concert will also include Massenet's Méditation and Stanford's String Quartet No. 2 (First movt) and 'A Song of Trust'.
We are privileged to have Prof. Harry White (UCD) presenting a pre-concert talk.

Mayo County Council launched their EU Cultural Programme for July-Dec. 2026 this morning. Louisburgh Voices will be joining with Cór Mhaigh Eo and the ConTempo String Quartet to perform Fauré's Requiem in Ballintubber Abbey on 22nd November, 4:45pm. Prof. Harry White, Emeritus Professor of Music at UCD, will give a pre-concert talk. Our soloists will be Pauline Graham (soprano) and Owen Gilhooly-Miles (baritone). The concert will also include music by Stanford (from his Quartet No. 2 and one of his Bible Songs).

Great to chat to Tommy Marren on Midwest Radio alongside Kathy Quinn, conductor of Cór Mhaigh Eo.

We'll be performing Vivaldi's uplifting Gloria in D with the fabulous ConTempo Quartet in Holy Trinity, Westport on Wednesday 27th May, 8pm. Music by J.S. Bach - including his famous 'Air' - is also on the programme.

Vivaldi worked for several years at this church in Venice - the Ospedale della Pietà - where many of his sacred works were first heard, including his Gloria in D. Vivaldi's works were often performed by young musicians, and we'll be featuring some young soloists from Louisburgh Music School in our concert.
