St Mel's Musical Society Disney's Beauty and the Beast: March 30 - April 3 2027 St.

Mel’s MS was established over 45 years ago by a dynamic group of Longford natives who wanted to bring the arts to the community in an amateur capacity. Since then, we have grown in size, moved our productions from the Temperance Hall, and won quite a few accolades along the way! Since the very beginning, our ethos has been focused on long-lasting friendships and our commitment to serving local audiences with a spectacular annual show.

We are so excited to be heading off to Killarney this weekend for the AIMS - Association of Irish Musical Societies Awards!

Two nominations for us this year - our fab Wicked Witch Janette Devlin is in the running for Best Supporting Actress, and we are also thrilled to be nominated for Best House Management.

We are well known for offering a warm welcome to our audiences, and our friendly front of house team, led by Eimear Reynolds, have had their efforts recognised!

A huge thank you and congratulations to Eimear and everyone who was involved in this year's front of house team - you all represent the best of St Mel's hospitality!

Here's hoping we can bring home some silverware!🥰

St. Mel’s Musical Society would like to wish Longford County Choir every success as they celebrate the Silver Anniversary tomorrow, Sunday 24th May, in St. Mel’s Cathedral.

We’re incredibly proud of our many members that are involved and especially delighted to see our extraordinary Musical Director, Fintan Farrelly, leading such an outstanding choir on this special occasion.

With wonderful soloists Ami Hewitt, Eimear Reynolds & Breen McGee, this promises to be a truly special evening of music. Tickets available at the door. 🎶🎼✨

Queen of the witches Janette Devlin is up for best supporting actress at AIMS. Given the standard across the country, this is an epic achievement for Janette, whose dedication to the role has been evident since her very first audition. Top 5 in Ireland 😍 👏

Her return to the stage has been nothing short of spectacular ❤️
