Discovered Landscapes Encaustic Workshop in Listowel!

Dive into a world where molten wax, bold mark-making, and intuitive creativity converge! Join acclaimed encaustic artists Kelly Williams and Bridget Benton on Saturday, September 6th, from 10:30 am to 5 pm at Olive Stack Gallery, in the heritage town of Listowel, Co. Kerry.

What Makes This Workshop So Special:

Experiment with encaustic (hot wax) techniques, including ink, watercolor, oil paint, pastel, collage, and texture to build layered, expressive works on paper.

Find landscapes in abstraction: start with photos, then simplify and abstract terrain using shapes, light, and shadow. The result isn’t a literal copy, but a lively, energetic impression of the natural world.

All levels welcome, from curious newcomers to seasoned encaustic painters. The workshop encourages experimentation, spontaneity, and personal growth in a supportive setting.

All materials are included, though you’re welcome to bring your own landscape images as inspiration.

This workshop with Emily Andress is now FULLY BOOKED. Emily was the very first artist in residence at the gallery in August 2015. The start of a special friendship and many adventures together! Emily now owns her own wonderful Awaken Gallery in North Carolina!
