Country OK is the work of choreographer and director Siobhán Ni Dhuinnín

Siobhán is a dance artist who enjoys a multidisciplinary and collaborative process. She and has created work with dancers, sean-nós singers, poets, geologists and visual artists. In Country OK, she brings in the collaboration of the cast of dancers and a live band into the fabric of the piece.

A long-time collaborator of Dance Limerick, Siobhán recently performed in Compass Associate Artist Magdalena Hylak's ensemble debut, Racket. In 2024, her work Can I Have Your Best Move? was presented as part of What Next Dance Festival. Siobhán was also Dance Limerick Associate Artist for 2021/22. In 2022, Siobhán and her father, traditional boat-builder Pádraig Ó Duinnín, performed Bád Shiobhán to great audience success.

Siobhán is an Arts Council Next Generation Award & Markievicz Award recipient. She was Associate Artist at the Irish World Academy. (2021-2022). She often works bi-lingually in Irish and English and was Dance Artist in Residence, Gaeltacht Mhúscraí 2018-2020. She has worked and performed with Joan Davis, Magdalena Hylak, Jessie Keenan, Junk Ensemble, Laura Murphy, Mary Nunan, Fearghus Ó Conchúir and Mary Wycherley.

Invoking the spirit of dance halls and dancing bodies of past and present, Country OK is a rollicking celebration of live performance with a live band, and an invitation to let loose and join in!

Featuring an inter-generational dance cast from across Limerick, joined by professional dancers with a live band, Country OK invites audiences to join the dance floor after the performance (optional, of course, but hard to resist!)

We are excited to welcome Wanjiru Kamuyu to Dance Limerick next week as part of her 2026 Irish Tour.

On Thursday 8 October, audiences will have the chance to see ‘An Immigrant’s Story’, a solo that interrogates the gaze upon the “foreigner” in a new space, new society.

A cosmopolitan on three continents – Africa, North America and Europe – wherever the artist decides to set up home, is she considered an immigrant?

The work, through satire, offers a critical eye on the notions of place and placement that are prevalent in today’s political discourse.

Dance Limerick is excited to share our programme of classes and workshops for professionals and pre-professionals this autumn

This season, we are welcoming Lewis Wilkins again for our annual date at the Irish World Academy; Wanjiru Kamuyu will offer a masterclass ahead of her performance of An Immigrant’s Story; dancers will have the chance to partake in a pro class with LuailDance and one of this year’s Percolate artists, will share some of her practice in an open class.
