Monday 6th July – Wednesday 8th July
11am – 3pm

Why not come to our Summer camp for teens aged 13-15 here in Friars’ Gate Theatre as part of our LCYP Creative Hub!
Meet other young people interested in the arts and have your chance to shape the Creative Hub here in Friars’ Gate Theatre.
An exciting camp filled with creativity and engaging workshops!

Summer Camp – County Limerick Youth Theatre
Monday 13th & Tuesday 14th July
DynaLYTs (Aged 9-12): 9am – 12pm
CountyLYTs (Aged 13-18): 1pm – 3pm

County Limerick Youth Theatre returns to Friars’ Gate Theatre for this exciting two day Summer Camp!

Then this camp is for you! Two days in a professional theatre environment with supportive facilitators and youth leaders.

A gripping, original stage play written and directed by Bernard Field. The narrative follows two disaffected Irish men stuck together on an overnight train, where heavy drinking, a game of poker, and a beguiling gypsy lead them to uncover difficult truths about their pasts.

🖌Sun-Gazer by Eilis Fanning - Sun-Gazer features a body of work by Limerick/Dublin based visual artist, Éilis Fanning. Exploring the sparse and formless borderlands of Ireland’s hills, these oil-on copper paintings contrast dreamlike, empty landscapes littered with monolithic fragments of infrastructure- radio towers, paths, pylons-with the battered copper sheet metal they’re painted on.

🎭Last train from Holyhead - Two men discover more than they bargained for on an overnight train to nowhere. With the help of drink, poker, and a beguiling gypsy, they encounter the void within through the lives of each other.

Two men discover more than they bargained for on an overnight train to nowhere. With the help of drink, poker, and a beguiling gypsy, they encounter the void within through the lives of each other.

An examination of identity and of how seeds sown in the past have a habit of sprouting, whether we like it or not.

A story based on the truth of recent history, the play is a gripping, edge of the seat drama, full of surprises, twist and laughs.

Sun-Gazer by Eilis Fanning is launching TODAY at 7pm!
Complimentary glass of wine on the night of the launch🍷

Featuring unique oil-on copper paintings contrast dreamlike, empty landscapes littered with monolithic fragments of infrastructure- radio towers, paths, pylons-with the battered copper sheet metal they’re painted on. These uncanny landscapes, sunblasted and alien, transform the hinterlands into explorations of transcendence, otherness, and freedom, and evoke questions of our relationship to the places we pass through.
