Harpsichordists Rachel Factor and Yonit Kosovske will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Die Kunst der Fuge (Art of the Fugue) at the 2026 Galway Early Music Festival. Composed in Bach’s final decade of life, this monumental masterpiece represents the summit of his contrapuntal exploration in monothematic and imitative composition.

Rachel and Yonit have been collaborating together as a harpsichord duo for over eight years in concerts throughout Ireland and the UK. Their creative programming has spanned 500 years of repertoire, from Baroque to Contemporary works by living composers from Ireland and around the globe.

Delighted to share the news that Yonit Kosovske has been awarded funding through the Music Network Music Capital Scheme, funded by the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport. BAILE/home: Where is home? For millions of displaced people, this question is becoming increasingly difficult to answer. Home can be a place of nurture, safety, and ancestral roots, or a place of oppression, lack of opportunity, and loss. Homes can be lost but also found, regained, rediscovered, and made anew.

In this performance, renowned historical keyboard specialist Yonit Kosovske, viola da gamba virtuoso Sarah Groser and boundary-exploring pianist and composer Xenia Pestova Bennett join forces to give a home to new music that combines contemporary and historical instruments. The set-up creates a striking visual arrangement and draws listeners into sounds both old and new, humorous and serious, reflective and progressive. Come hear BAILE/home as the centrepiece performed as part of:

NEW WORKS FOR EARLY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS by Xenia Pestova Bennett, Matías Padellaro, Elaine McCabe, Anna-Kaise Meklin, Luis Fernando Sánchez García, Karlheinz Essl, and Janet Oates.
