September 12th was graduation day @ Limerick Youth Service for the student bakers of the Professional Bakery Skills course, and it also saw the Continue In Their Refusal participants re-enact the iconic Limerick Soviet Committee photo. The original committee met and carried out the planning of the city during the Soviet in April 1919 at the premises located at 5 Uppr Glenthworth St, which now houses the Limerick Youth Service. Although this historic photo was taken elsewhere we thought it fitting to relocate the image back to the Glentworth Street where directions were given to the bakers of 1919 to go back to the bakeries and reopen them to support the citizens of the New Soviet city. This project has been made possible with the support of The LimericK & Clare Educational Training Board, LCCC Creative Ireland Funding, Made In Limerick Grant & Communications Workers Union along with support in Kind from Irish Rail,Siptu, Limerick Soviet 100 Committee and Mike Mc Namara president of Limerick Council Of Trade Unions.
