What Are You Afraid Of?
By Peter Hanly
Presented by Rough Magic and Kilkenny Arts Festival

Fear touches us all. It can hold us back, change our course, or stop us in our tracks.
For thirty years, Peter Hanly enjoyed a successful career on stage and screen. Then, during a rehearsal in 2011, he was overcome by stage fright. Within a year, he had stopped acting.

Now, in this funny, moving and deeply personal production, Hanly returns to the stage in a cast of three to explore what happened and examine the role fear plays in all of our lives – with a touch of theatrical magic.

An uplifting story of resilience, self-discovery and the courage to begin again.

Anne Gildea does it again with Further Adventures in Womaning (now in its second year), a unique, fearless, and outrageously funny exploration of Irish womanhood from one of Ireland’s most original comedic voices.

Following the success of her hit show How to Get the Menopause and Enjoy It, Anne returns with new stories, hilarious insights, using her trademark wit as she dives into the quirks, challenges, and unexpected joys of navigating life as a woman. Smart, warm, and laugh-out-loud funny, this show celebrates the glorious messiness of being human—and offers a night of comedy everyone can relate to.
