Seniors Alert Scheme (SAS)

The Seniors Alert Scheme (SAS) is designed to assist individuals aged 65 and older by providing them with a monitored personal alarm system. This system offers eligible seniors the ability to live independently and securely in their homes, offering them reassurance and peace of mind.

Funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and managed by Pobal, the scheme provides access to vital safety equipment through local, community-based, voluntary, and not-for-profit organizations that are registered with Pobal to administer SAS.

Volunteers are urgently needed for the Lifford area.

We are delighted to welcome back the sensational Tanya McCole to the stage at Lifford Old Courthouse, she will be playing live on Saturday the 21st of November with support from Lifford's own Farmer Harte.

Tanya McCole grew up in the unique village that is Ardara, Co. Donegal, Ireland. Having moved to London in '94 she returned to Ireland and settled in Galway city.
Her first band was the very popular H***y Devils . Tanya then joined the very successful Black Magic Big band and finally the fantastic Lewd Tunes.

Tanya returned to Donegal in 2005 and has performed with many of Ireland's leading artists, including Sharon Shannon, Mundy and Shane MacGowan to name a few. 2009 saw the release of her first album "Love, Hate & The Blues", which was was well received by audiences and radio stations alike.

In 2018 Tanya went back to the studio with a fresh batch of songs and recorded "Because Of You". In stark contrast to "Love, Hate & The Blues”, this new album is stripped back to reveal her uniquely distinctive voice and songwriting ability.

That same year she fulfilled a lifelong dream of touring with Grammy award winner John Prine. As an artist Tanya McCole is one of the finest singer/songwriters in this isle of Ireland and beyond.

FREE SELF DEFENCE CLASSES

We will be running self defence classes in collaboration with Strikeback Self Defence Donegal on Tuesday 16th June! Due to the classes being postponed until the 16th we now have a few places available.

These classes are supported by Donegal ETB's REACH funding.

There will be a class taking place for men and women over 65 at 12pm, and a class for women over 18 at 2:30pm.

These classes are free of charge so early booking is essential.
