Oisín and I are heartbroken to hear of the passing of the beautiful soul and absolute legend, Petesy Burns.

We first met Petesy in 2008 at the Drumacanoo Punx Picnic in Donegal. A month later he played with A-Political in Letterkenny for free to help fundraise for the festival, something we were forever grateful for. He stayed with us that night and we sat up late listening to his stories about bands, Belfast, and his love of nature, social awareness and equality. A true kind spirit and punk rock soul.

In recent years he played Oisín’s 50th with The Gakk in Letterkenny, and in 2024 played with Brian Young (Rudi), The Outcasts & The Defects at the Culture Shocks Festival in the RCC.

Petesy always met you with a big smile. He supported Rebellious Jukebox and everything we did. We’ll miss bumping into him at gigs.

Rest in punk rock, Petesy 🖤

All our love to Anthea and to all his family and friends at this incredibly sad time.
