After three incredible years of theatre-making, and bringing professional opportunities to the North West, DYMT comes to the end of its final chapter. From our first production of Phantom of the Opera, to the war torn streets of our award-winning Jesus Christ Superstar and our 2019 revival of Oliver, along with our Masterclass Series and weekly Stage School Academy, I am very proud of everything that we have achieved and moreover, of all of our incredible students who embraced the intensity of the training with endless energy, passion and care, and who we’ve seen grow and excel both at home and now in the UK.
I would like to extend the most sincere thank you to all of our DYMT Creatives and Tutors - especially to our core team of Herta, Amy and Sinead - and indeed all of our technical teams, sponsors, DYMT families and An Grianan Theatre for all the love they poured into our company over the years. We have precious memories to remember for years to come.
However, when one book closes, another opens - and what an exciting adventure that’s going to be. From February 2020, Irish Youth Musical Theatre rolls out across the country, under the patronage of Irish Musical Theatre royalty, Colm Wilkinson, and in partnership with the Royal Irish Academy of Music. I hope that all of our incredible DYMT students will join us at IYMT - your new National Musical Theatre Training Company - and continue to fly the Donegal flag.
