Purpose: The purpose of Danu Young Women’s Choir is to provide a safe and open environment for young women to be themselves while experiencing personal growth, and deepening bonds with like-minded individuals through the medium of excellent choral singing and community outreach. We strive to create an ensemble that provides entertainment and support for our local, national, and international communities.

This years Danu Spirit Award winner Tara Burke was also the winner of the Irish Scholarship Award (more info below.) To say she represents Danu well would be an understatement, because she represents her entire community, county and country with soul, love and kindness. Listen/read what she has to say. Danu Young Women’s Choir and Líonra Leitir Ceanainn decided to come together to award a scholarship to one of the young women who would be leaving the choir this year. Participants were asked to reflect on the connection between music, Irish and identity. Here is the scholarship winner, Tara de Búrca.

We are incredibly proud of St Mary’s College pupils Hannah and Emily, who performed with the Danu Young Women's Choir at St Columb's Hall on Saturday evening. It was a truly exceptional concert, showcasing the remarkable talent of these young performers.

Pictured alongside Hannah and Emily are Mrs Diana McLaughlin, conductor and vocal coach of Danin, and Dr Douglas Carnes, Executive and Artistic Director of the Danú Young Women’s Choirs.
