We have kindly been granted permission by Cameron Barnes to feature his hit single ‘Old Friend’ as the official theme song on the soundtrack for ‘YOU AND ME’ our upcoming online digital theatre production.
Much like ‘You and Me’, Old Friend tells the tale of enduring friendship. It explores childhood relationships and how two people can drift apart over time. At its core is a reminder than no matter the distance, no matter how long it has been since two old pals had spoken, there is always an unbreakable bond. And, perhaps most importantly, it is never too late to ask for help.
Cameron Barnes is a musician, singer-song writer and actor born in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland. He has trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Aberdeen City Music School and the National Centre of Excellence, Plockton.
As a multi-instrumentalist he has toured the world, teaching and performing with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. He recently founded his own folk/rock band, Break The Butterfly, which he fronts.
He made his theatre debut in Black Watch for the National Theatre of Scotland in 2010 and returned to appear in The James Plays trilogy in 2014 and has worked with the National Theatre.
Cameron is also a successful recording musician. He has had success with his singles Chasing Love and Just Smile which have featured in the UK Top 50 and #1 in the World Music iTunes chart.
This lead to various support slots with Skerryvore and Brit Award artist Tom Walker and selling out the prestigious King Tuts' in Glasgow, Tunnels in Aberdeen and Mash House in Edinburgh.
We are very thankful to Cameron for allowing us to use his very personal song which we believe compliments the story of ‘You and Me' perfectly.
