Amethyst gemstone with clear Quartz.

In the ancient Greek civilization, Amethyst was thought to provide the human body with protection against drunkenness!
For this reason, it was very common for Greeks to drink from cups that had been designed with Amethysts. Wearing the gemstone was also believed to be a way to provide the body with protection against getting drunk.
