Mile buiochas to all who came to O'Grady's Bar Killorglin last night.we had amazing stories from great people. We had poetic references to and recollections of inspirational mothers, stories of teachers who made a difference, a chilling story from the West Bank, and memories of an anti-apartheid activist couple. We heard about the kindness of a stranger on a plane and of an inspired enquiry which led to an.artistic experience.There were activists, artists, art lovers , locals , visitors, regulars and new people there.
We loved it! It works because great people turn up.
We"ll do it again soon ! Enjoy the great art around the town..ie

People have been asking about our Killorglin story sessions. O'Grady's Bar Killorglin .
You dont have to tell a story.We need listeners and tellers.
If you'd like to tell a story you'll be asked to put your name in the hat at the start.
Stories usually take 3 to 5 minutes o a chosen theme as you interpret it.
Its not a competition its not about a big performance. The audience is supportive. Everyone over a story.
Stories are usually of the "is it true ? did it happen to you?" style.
We welcome traditional Stories from all cultures.
We have enjoyed songs and poems from.time to.time.
We don't use the space to make political points, laugh at, or mock others.
We like kindness.
We'd love to see you tomorrow ,Thursday night our them as part of K Visual is Inspiration.

Join artist Felix Power as he asks' Where's the 'I' in Ireland?' during an afternoon filled with thought provoking questions that only YOU know the answer to .

What does it feel like to feel like you , to come from where you come from and to feel Irish in whatever way you do ( or don't)? How can we begin to answer big but simple questions when words fail us or when straight answers don't exist?
Felix Power has some ideas ...
There will be stupid anecdotes, terrible poetry , mundane observations and tiny worthless prizes . But most importantly , there will be an opportunity to think creatively about how we all find a place in the world.

You will be guided to document and share some of those thoughts, annoymously, create and empathetic database of unique stories, a patchwork of incomplete biographies that tell something of the story of us , now.

This Free event takes place Saturday, 5 September at Tralee Library
