Glasshouses 🌱 I’ve often thought of them as living paintings. We step inside and are transported to other worlds. A snippet from somewhere fascinating and unfamiliar.
They present a really challenging drawing for me. Deciding on lights, darks, structure and textures can be slow but immensely satisfying when it works 👌🏼

The irony of listening to ‘Yesteryear’ 📖 whilst staying in a cabin last week 🤓 It’s the simple life for me, blessed be the fruit.

P.s would highly recommend for anyone on the hunt for a good audible listen 🎧

Was really pleased with my mark making in this piece. So much greenery I find can be a tricky subject to tackle with pen but I did a few samples before starting this one and was so pleased with the finished textures. A private commission from a few years ago ✍🏼

Couldn’t be more surprised to have my piece ‘A Gardens Work’ from last year’s ‘Dublin Plein Air Festival’ preselected for Stage 2 of the RHA annual exhibition. I honestly thought this year I hadn’t anything of note, but sure I’d enter anyways. It’s taken 4 years to see a green tick and woah did it give me a lovely boost 😊 My fingers are crossed for the final selection I’m so chuffed regardless! 🤞🏼

2016 what a time! This insta account did not exist and my artwork/career was void of any direction 😂

🏙️ Urban Sketching Workshop ✍🏼

Really looking forward to hosting this workshop in the New Year! This is for any adult who has an interest in urban sketching, newcomer or someone looking for some new ideas! We’ll be drawing in a studio setting as well as taking a look out and about at the local architecture for inspo and on site practice ✍🏼

I really need to take my sketch book back outside! For all the bad, lockdown really also gave us so much good and sometimes it’s too easy to forget. Don’t know how I have finally found the courage to go “au plein air” otherwise! (Or cycle in the city for that matter ☺️🚴🏻‍♀️)
