Last week we had the privilege of attending two fantastic events in Galway for the creative industries.

On Thursday (not Friday - if you know you know!) we were at EDGE26: Ireland's Creative Economy Summit.
It was an uplifting day that brought together creatives from across the whole of Ireland's creative industries, including film, animation, games, immersive tech, design, and music technology.

The keynotes and panels were packed with insight on scaling creative businesses, building IP, and embracing emerging technologies. The atmosphere left us feeling excited and full of ambition - thank you to all the organisers and the speakers on the day!

The next day, Animation Ireland Meitheal 2026 lived up to its name!

Meitheal is an Irish word for the spirit of collective effort and the day felt like a genuine gathering of community. The sessions on international collaboration, audience development, and the evolving relationship between technology and storytelling were engaging and thought-provoking.

It was wonderful to see Ireland's animation community come together alongside international voices to celebrate how far we've come and to look honestly at the road ahead. Huge thanks to Animation Ireland for continuing to host such an inspirational annual event, and to all the speakers on the day. We can't wait for the next one, which will be combined with the Irish Animation Awards in May next year!

Here are some photos from Galway, a little late but better that than never, eh?

Bonus points to anyone who joined Animation Ireland CEO, Ronan McCabe, and Lighthouse MD Claire Finn for a pre-Meitheal dip in the cold waters of Galway Bay on Friday morning!

Thanks once again to the teams at CREW and Animation Ireland for putting together such meaningful programmes.

Meet Mortimer. He's a Victorian coroner that gives tips on living that you definitely shouldn't listen to.

Rumour has it he has a sideline in graverobbing. Not that we pay attention to speculation, but perhaps he's not the most trustworthy source of health advice...
