ARTeTHINGS Creating images Then we make the "edition" (each time re inking the plate and printing) and we get up to as many as we have time for!

Art projects ...PRINTMAKING and PAINTING
The workshops are run in a way to cater for the individuals direction, in other words
with this type of print making not every technique suites every person,(and there are so many techniques) so as the
workshop continues different techniques are introduced or discarded by the individual then developed. Planning is important, so most of the time we start wit

h a talk about what image we would like to use and
how we can achieve the marks and textures wanted, this is first done on paper with pencil. When the work/time/effort is put in at this stage wonderful results are achieved, The next stage is to redo the drawing
by tracing it( and all this time, the image can be added to). By turning over the tracing paper we now have the "mirror
image" and can copy this on to the metal plate using a scribe(as every print will come out backwards/mirror image) ....then we are ready to "ink up" and go to the printing press! The process and various stages of printmaking seem to be what make it addictive and exciting for all ages and due to the fact that there are so many and it is so diverse everyone finds at least a few that they want to get their hands into onto. so now we have multiples of our original drawings in print ! and it doesn't get any better then that!
