The shortlist for the HearSay Audio Prize 2026 has been announced. Congratulations to the artists behind the 20 shortlisted entries from 16 different countries

Every entry was created especially for the HearSay Audio Prize 2026 in the spirit of our renewal and rewilding year.
It was such a difficult task to create the shortlist. All pieces were listened to anonymously -Every single entry was listened to multiple times. There was bravery, there was vulnerability, there was playfulness, adventurousness.

The results of the shortlist judging are now being finalized to identify the award winners. The winners will received their award at a special ceremony at the booked out HearSay Audio Festival in Kilfinane, Ireland from the 7th-10th May 2026, receiving flights, accommodation and festival passes.

[If you are not already coming to HearSay26 join the waitlist via hearsayfestival.ie as a few additional places are likely to come on stream later this week) ]

Special Passes for local people will be be announced next week.

Niamh O Brien
Head to Ringmoylan Pier, Pallaskenry Co. Limerick this weekend any time from 11.30-6pm for a deep sonic dive!

Hello world! For the past couple of months I have been roaming around the parish with a microphone, gathering the sounds and stories of Kildimo-Pallaskenry. I have also been composing some music inspired by this place and the people who live in it. I have neatly packaged all of these things into an hour-ish of splendid audio for your convenience!

I will be broadcasting the work this weekend on Ringmoylan Pier.

Come along any time from 11.30 to 6pm. You will be able to tune in and hear the work on your car radio, a pocket radio, or a transistor radio.

This project is part of my PhD at the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance, UL, and is supported by the Irish Research Council and HearSay International Audio Arts Festival.
