Today is National Cancer Survivors Day® 2026

A day where people across the globe will come together to acknowledge cancer survivors, raise awareness of the ongoing challenges cancer survivors face because of their disease, and – most importantly – celebrate life.
We marked today by joining forces with our friends for a day of movement, connection, community and celebrating life.
We were joined by a number of ambassadors, Marie Keating Foundation Survivorship group members, new friends and old to mark this important day by walking together around beautiful Bohernabreena, with Dearbh and Karen from Cancer Take a hike leading the way.

Our survivorship services at the Marie Keating Foundation led by our Director of Nursing Helen Forristal support people living with and beyond cancer and these communities are at the heart of our work. Helen spoke about these services and our role in survivorship to start the day.

So today we want to celebrate all cancer survivors or those living with cancer or living with the impact of a loved one with cancer. We always want to remember those who have passed and celebrate their lives.

It was a truly beautiful way to add to all our 100km a day this June, a challenge raising funds to support our free services. It’s not too late to register. , if you start today its around 4km a day to complete it by July 1st!
