What does 'Renewal' Look Like? - Find out on September 17th, 6pm Woodbine Books.
'Renewal' was chosen as the theme for a sketchbook club that began as a 'what if' conversation in January in Woodbine. The simple idea has turned into a successful, monthly creative space for a variety of local people. Woodbine books, funded by Books at One Community Prize Fund, provide a space and refreshments, people come once a month and spend 2 hours creating, talking, sharing, doodling, painting, collaging, printing, stamping, learning, communing. The cost is a sketchbook from Woodbine, the sessions are free and led by Lyn Worrall. All ages from 16 up are there, some are first time sketchbookers to professional artists. We had some of our wonderful European volunteers from the Bridge Community join us.
The sketchbook we chose to use is a beautiful Irish made product from Duffy Bookbinders. As you can see the ideas and art being made is as wide as ages of the participants.
On September 17th we invite everyone to come and see pieces made from the work done between February and July and the sketchbooks themselves. We will be in Woodbine from 6 - 8 pm.
On October 5th we start a new club and a new sketchbook, anyone who wants to join us is welcome, we will meet on the first monday of each month.
