I painted this family portrait a couple of months ago. It features a happy mom with her two sons after scaling the Ticknock Mountain in county Dublin earlier this year.
Her husband commissioned me to paint this photo and gifted the portrait to his wife as a birthday present.

The painting is 50 x 60 cm in size and painted with acrylics on stretched canvas.

A pencil portrait I completed earlier this year. This is a night time drawing, making shadows strong and interesting. It was commissioned as a graduation gift to the man's sister and my client's mum.
It is 30 x 25 cm in size and I signed it before putting into a neutral coloured mount and posting it off to be presented at the graduation.

This is a pencil portrait drawing of Nicky, my client's grandfather. She commissioned this sketch as a keepsake artwork to display beside a sketch I created of her grandmother.

I had one photo to work from. It is of this gentleman in his tractor busy at work as a farmer. My client wanted to remember him at work as this is where he was happiest.
The drawing is drawn with Staedtler graphite pencils at 30 x 20 cm.

I collected the finished family house portrait from the framers this week. This is an acrylic painting of a semi-detached house painted from photographs and Google Map street views. I was capturing an artist interpretation of how the house looked more than fifty years ago when my client's father lived through his childhood.
It has now changed a little, so besides photos I used my client's descriptions and memories.

It was a fun project, one I had a little freedom with.
It is framed in a limed wood canvas tray frame. The size is 30 x 30 cm.

This is a portrait of two lovely girls, Cara holding her baby sister Fia, that I drew from a few photographs. This was a gift for their parents commissioned by their grandmother.

The drawing is 30 x 20 cm in size and I used Staedtler Mars Lumograph Black pencils on Fabriano paper. I started with a line sketch and shading followed. I took a series of videos as I progressed.

I drew it earlier in the year using one photo for Cara's lovely face and another for baby Fia.

'Michelle and Tia' graphite pencil on paper at 25 x 25 cm
This was a very special portrait of a girl with her beloved black labrador cross. They were inseparable for years until the girl's passing. I felt so honoured to be commissioned to create this for her aunt whi is still looking after her dog.

I put a number of photographs together to create an image my client wanted.

What a great day it was at the 'Varnishing Day' yesterday at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin. The 196th RHA Annual Exhibition is now open and my drawing 'Patrick' is being exhibited as part of the exhibit.
My work is in the Ashford Gallery on the ground floor of the gallery space together with many other outstanding pencil drawings and prints. It is an honour to be part of it.
It is open until the 9th August...

An anniversary gift I painted for the bride-to-be in the photo. Her partner commissioned it from me earlier this year. It is painted on a small canvas at 20 x 20 cm in size. I had one photo to work from which I adjusted removing a few objects to create a simple composition. My aim was to capture the moment of surprise.
