Kells Theatre is a state of the art theatre located in the heart of Kells Town Centre. Hosting a variety of pantomimes, plays and musicals from the long tenured Kells Musical and Dramatic Society 1976, as well as many travelling production companies and local drama groups. The theatre hosts Bingo every Friday night at 8:30pm.

Hi Everyone, John Grant here on behalf of Kells Musical Society committee members, I wish to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our Summer Raffle. Of course we sincerely thank all the wonderful, business and shops and individuals who donated and sponsored our raffle prizes. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and a special thanks to our friends in Supervalu Kells for allowing us to sell our lines outside. We are so happy and delighted with the support which we received -A BIG THANK YOU!!

The Committee of Kells Musical and Dramatic Society 1976 invite all our past and present members to join us for short group video interviews to help celebrate our 50th Golden Anniversary Ball on October 31st in Headfort Arms Hotel Kells. We want all of our previous casts, and crews of all our Pantos, Plays, Musicals, Show stoppers, variety shows, Pageants, Passion Plays along with our sponsors, front of house, stewards, pit singers, stage managers and stage crew, prompters, backstage helpers, make up, prop makers, costumes, choreographers, past committee members to join us this coming Saturday 15th August in Eureka Hall from 12 noon on. It promises to be a wonderful nostalgic get together with all our old friends. Please, please share this post and spread the word as we would like as many as we can to attend. Helping children live their theatre dream!!!
ENROLEMENT IS NOW UNDERWAY FOR 2026/2027
Kells Theatre School is now entering its twenty-sixth year with very successful workshops and end of year productions. Some of last year’s show items were, our mini musical ‘THE LITTLE MERMAID’ ‘Snow White and Shrek'’ Comedy sketches chorus singing and solos Along with show and pop medleys and poems. The students acted, Danced and sang well known show and pop songs and solo singers got their chance to shine. The aim of the school is to introduce children and teens to every aspect of ‘Theatre’ for example: Acting, singing, dance and storytelling and creative writing, mime, voice training and of course performance. We have a very experienced team with Drama tutor in John Grant, singing tutor Kathleen Mc Govern, creative story telling and writing Gaye Grant and Helena Sheridan our dance tutor along with our assistants -Brian O Neill, Seamus Ennis, Emer Gogarty and Linda Grant. The school was very proud to publish a book of stories written by the students during the creative class. The students will be given this over all view allowing them to discover for themselves which area of theatre is best suited to their abilities and skills as well as promoting self confidence. The over all aim is to provide a knowledge and appreciation of drama and dance and create an opportunity for the students to perform and have an active role in our end of year gala show to be staged in May 2027. production.
Who can participate? Children from 6 years to 16 years.
This is a wonderful time to get involved in theatre as there are a lot of opportunities around not to mention having a lot of fun while making new friends and exploring your talents. There will be 3 terms to the year.

It's showtime!!! Kells Theatre School is set to take to the stage this Saturday night May 23rd at 7pm. in Old Eureka School Hall, Navan Road, with our end-of-year gala production, featuring more than 60 children and teenagers in a variety showcase of musical theatre, drama and live performance.
The second half of the show is 'The Little Mermaid' mini musical alongside comedy sketches, poems, pop medleys and solo performances, all taking place.
A big night of local talent as another year of work and rehearsals comes to a close with the presentation of certificates to all the students. All very welcome. KELLS THEATRE SCHOOL End of year production 2026
Kells theatre school’s 25th end of year annual production takes place on Saturday 243d May at 7pm in Old Eureka School Hall Navan Rd and it is filled with over 60 talented children and teens eager to show off their acting, dancing and singing skills. The students have been very busy since last October honing in their skills which will culminate in this wonderful show filled with great dance medley routines, solo and duet singing, comedy sketches, funny poems and for Act 2 staging a mini musical ‘THE LITTLE MERMAID’. At the finale, the students will be presented with their certificates of completion. The students also have written stories and poems for their booklet and will receive a copy of everyone’s great work of imagination. The weekly workshops are held every Wednesday from 4pm to 6.16pm under the guidance of Acting tutor John Grant with his great team of – Singing tutor Kathleen Mc Govern. Choreographer Helena Sheridan and Creative writing Tutor Gaye Grant along with assistants, Brian O Neill, Seamus Ennis, Emer Gogarty, Linda Grant. Ruby Sheridan and Ben Devine. With special helpers, Clodagh Farrelly and Juliet McWeeney. All working hard to ensure that the show runs smoothly. The Theatre School invite everyone to come along and support the great work of enhancing children and teens with confidence building, nurturing their natural talent for acting, sing, dancing and creative writing while having fun and enjoying themselves.
