Delighted to be taking part in "Holding Ground" exhibition with an incredible group of fellow female artists opening tomorrow (Saturday 31st January) at 5pm as part of at Sligo 😊✨ pictured is one of my artworks exhibited: 'Céide', silkscreen print collage handmade book.

Holding Ground is a highlight event of Bríd Festival Sligo 2026, presenting a powerful group exhibition inspired by St Brigid as a figure of renewal and marking Imbolc as a time of transition, awakening and care.
Rooted in the spirit of Brigid, this exhibition explores acts of ecological, cultural and personal care, positioning women’s creative practices at a threshold between nature and culture, past and future. Here, the act of making becomes an act of tending, holding and sustaining — a quiet but vital form of resistance, connection and continuity.
Through diverse artistic approaches, Holding Ground invites audiences to reflect on the ways we nurture what matters, protect what is fragile, and imagine new futures grounded in care. The exhibition highlights women’s creative practices as a dialogue with the environment, exploring our connection to the land and the ways making can nurture, protect, and sustain the natural world.
Participating Artists: .colhoun , .connolly , Clare Doohan, , , .leask , , , , , , , , Caroline Walshe, karen Webster.

Only a couple more days to see my solo exhibition "STRATA - Sediments of Time" on at the until this Saturday 17th January.

Foreground: "Source" was created using remaining raw materials from my piece "Earth Cores", a mix of jointing, building and concreting sands. I feel these raw materials are in some ways as important and valued as a finished artwork. As an artist using these materials to create new forms, the energy alone needed to extract and process these sands, building blocks of future structures should be considered and remembered.

Background: "Tectonic" was created during the making process of my piece "Earth Cores", each core was created in a cardboard mould and after the core was released from the mould a wonderful variation of marks remained on the card. While collecting these pieces and constructing this work I began to imagine geological land movements and processes, from slow and gradual to rapid and monumental changes I wanted to capture their potential energies.

Exhibition runs until this Saturday 17th January 2026.
Gallery opening times - 11am - 1pm & 1.30pm - 4pm Wednesday to Saturday.
Supported by The Arts Council of Ireland.

New year and looking forward to new adventures ✨✨

"Forgotten Archive", Embossed paper installation in 'STRATA - Sediments of Time', my solo exhibition continues at , Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim until this Saturday 17th January, supported by

My Forgotten Archive work references some of the earliest human inscriptions in the landscape. Echoing the ring forts and rock art panels of Ireland, I have embossed circles and cup-and-ring motifs into paper, one of the most fragile materials, pairing ancient forms with contemporary vulnerability.

Exhibition runs until 4pm Saturday 17th January 2026.
Gallery opening times - 11am - 1pm & 1.30pm - 4pm Wednesday to Saturday.

Installation view of my solo exhibition "STRATA - Sediments of Time" on now at the recentre .

The "Earth Cores" seen here in the foreground became the central anchor of the show revealing the tension between natural formation and human intervention. As the viewer negotiates the space with these imagined strata accumulated over millions of years their temporal timescale shifts from our everyday perceptions. Made of cement, various sands, limestone/sandstone/quartz aggregates, hydraulic lime, Indian ink, they tell a story of the local environment and its materials.

In the background is the mural "Leitrim Landscape", where geologic symbols that speak of ancient land forming processes sweep across the gallety walls. The movement, scale and shifting perspectives again draw the viewer towards thoughts of complex and non human scales of time.
The central layered motif symbolises limestone, the dots symbolise sandstone and the arrows symbolise the metamorphic rock which Manorhamilton lies on.

Exhibition runs until 4pm Saturday 17th January 2026.
Gallery opening times - 11am - 1pm & 1.30pm - 4pm Wednesday to Saturday.

"Key", part of my solo exhibition "STRATA - Sediments of Time" on now at the . Geological map legend symbols carved in Leitrim Sandstone from Glenfarne Quarry. This piece is inspired by the Leitrim landscape I was surrounded in during my residency. The central linear motif symbolises limestone, the dots symbolise sandstone and the arrows symbolise the metamorphic rock which Manorhamilton lies on. I was also thinking about ancient rock art and how information is recorded and archived across thousands of years, the meaning can be lost but there is still an energy and essence that holds on.

While on residency I was introduced to the the ancient art of stone letter cutting by master cutter Seamus Dunbar. Learning this skill has deeply strengthened my relationship and apprication of Ireland's landscape, each exposed bedrock and dramatic valley for example holds stories of deep geological processes. Each strike of the chisel creates a dual record, instinctual and scientific.

Exhibition runs until 4pm Saturday 17th January 2026.
Gallery opening times - 11am - 1pm & 1.30pm - 4pm Wednesday to Saturday.

Thank you for inviting me to give an artist talk as part of my research residency at and The James Mitchell Geology Museum last week. I had so many brilliant experiences during this residency even though it was a brief one and am already looking forward to my next visit back in the New Year.

This residency was made possible by ' Live, Work, Play Award. Thank you for the generous support .

The busyness continues after my time in Leitrim with a short and wonderful research residency at the James Mitchell Geology Museum at University of Galway School of Natural Sciences at the University of Galway and I'm delighted to announce I will be giving an Artist talk this Wednesday lunchtime (1-2pm) in the Emily Anderson Concert Hall (Aula Maxima, Upper Floor, Quadrangle). If you are in Galway do pop in, I'll be talking about my practice and how my influences of gemmology and geology have informed my artistic research.

Some of the 60 objects in my artwork "Timeline", part of my solo exhibition "STRATA - Sediments of Time" on now at the . Discarded wristwatches once intimate markers of personal time became frozen moments of obsolescence. By crystallising them I am offering up these objects to the geological record, their human histories preserved within an imagined future strata.
