We are proud to be able to provide a working environment designed to improve the efficiency of our working routines. The workshop is a shared space with numerous activities that may include regular classes, demonstrations, group workshops or individual project work. We work on 24hr access system without any booking schedules. You will enjoy having the opportunity of working and sharing with others to develop your knowledge and skills. The workshop is designed to allow you to work in tandem with other members to share the space effectively. At Galway Print Studio we practice a “non-toxic” printmaking approach. This movement has been paramount to the creation of a healthier environment in which to work. Non-toxic processes still use a variety of chemicals, but greener printmaking is about exploring safer and non-toxic alternatives to traditional printmaking practices. We feel strongly about providing a vital, healthier workshop where newer technologies are available as an alternative in testing, exploring and being all round more conscious of working in a greener, safer environment. The space is organised by sections to meet the Studio´s needs separately. Our working method relies on the division between an ink free area and a printmaking space. In this way the easiest solution was to combine our clean working processes together in line with the office at front of house to cover all our service requirements. The workshop structure now allows us to print without interruptions from those using the front of house facilities. We provide all the facilities required for relief printing, intaglio and screen-printing. Our Studio is open to collaborate with professionals to provide educational workshops for members and the general public. We also offer a service to professional artists who wish to use our facilities to produce print editions. We provide a digital printing service for members, artists and the general public under the supervision of a trained technician. Digital equipment is also available for rent by members and general public.
